Sunshine Coast Exterior house painting

Exterior painting built for salt, sun and the wet season.

Full exteriors, weatherboard restoration, render, cladding, eaves and gutter lines. Coast-facing walls get a heavier spec than the ones the weather never reaches.

  • /Family-run, locally owned
  • /Fully insured
  • /Dulux + Taubmans accredited
  • /Lead & asbestos qualified

For Sunshine Coast owners whose exterior has stopped looking after itself.

Chalky north walls. Fascias going soft. Render holding salt against the wall. Forty years painting between Caloundra and Noosa teaches you which walls give out first up here.

One spec doesn’t fit a whole house.

Dulux Weathershield and Taubmans All Weather do most of the work. What sits underneath changes by substrate and exposure. We walk the house first and price the walls that need more, rather than charging the whole place for the worst one.

Why the exterior is different up here

Three things the Coast does to a paint job.

  • Salt reaches further than you think

Salt drift carries well past the dunes, and canal-front render holds it against the wall because the water stays close. Those walls get a sealer pass and a heavier system.

  • The prep is the paint job

Oxidised trims, soft fascia timber, flashing junctions where the humidity gets in. Sanding, filling and sealing take most of the days on an exterior. Topcoat is the short part.

  • Older houses get tested first

Paint from before 1970 can carry lead. Fibro eaves and soffits from before 1990 can carry asbestos. We’re qualified to test and handle both, and we test before anyone starts sanding.

  2. 02

Test where the house is old enough to need it.

Lead in the older paint layers, asbestos in pre-1990 fibro. If either turns up, you get the plan and the paperwork before we disturb anything.

    Prep, then paint.

Wash, scrape, sand, fill, seal, undercoat. Then the system that wall was spec’d for. Most full exteriors run five to ten working days depending on access.

Common questions

What people ask before booking.

  • How long does an exterior repaint take?

Most full exteriors run five to ten working days. Access is the biggest variable. A single-storey brick home with clear ground around it goes quicker than a two-storey on a slope that needs scaffold.

  • How much does exterior house painting cost on the Sunshine Coast?

It moves with square metres, condition, substrate and access. A render repaint prices differently to weatherboard that needs timber repair first. We quote after a free site visit so the number is the real one.

  • What paint do you use on coastal exteriors?

Dulux Weathershield and Taubmans All Weather as the default. Coast-facing and canal-front walls usually get a sealer pass first. Protected walls don’t need the same system, so we don’t charge for it.

  • My house is from the 1960s. Is lead paint a problem?

It can be. Paint from before 1970 often carries lead in the older layers, and sanding it without qualified prep puts it in the air. We’re qualified to test, prep and remove it safely, with the safety paperwork on the job.

  • Do you paint eaves, fascias and gutters?

Yes, and they’re usually the parts that need it most. Fascias and barge boards oxidise faster than the body of the house. We look at those before we look at the walls.
