Local context

What we paint in Buderim.

Buderim sits on a hill, and where your house is on that hill shapes the job. Up on the ridge there are architectural rebuilds next to older homes on big blocks. Down the slopes, a lot of the stock is brick from the 1970s, then 1980s and 1990s brick veneer with timber trims. Newer rendered estates fill in around the lower edges. Out on the fringes, acreage blocks have long driveways and plenty of trees. Steep blocks are common, so a house that's single storey at the street can be two storeys out the back. The old village centre on Burnett Street still has its shops and cafes. Vendors and landlords keep the painting market steady all year, and plenty of owner-occupiers repaint to stay put.

What we watch for

Substrate and exposure notes.

On 1970s face brick, the outside job is mostly the trims and eaves, and the fascias and barge boards usually go first. Old timber trims go chalky well before the brick shows any age, so we check them closely for soft spots. Fibro eaves on houses from before 1990 get an asbestos test, and timber painted before 1970 gets a lead test, before we sand anything. Rendered estates need a different eye. We tap the render to find drummy patches and fill fine cracks before a sealer goes on. Buderim's tree cover keeps south walls damp for longer, so mould gets treated and those walls get extra dry time between coats. Any timber replaced after termite damage gets sealed before it's painted.

Shops, offices and unit blocks

Commercial painting in Buderim.

Buderim's commercial work centres on the village. Shops and cafes along Burnett Street and the streets around it need repainting like any house, without losing days of trade. We can paint after hours or around opening times so customers barely notice we've been. There are also medical and professional suites around the hill, plus townhouse and unit complexes run by a body corporate. For complexes, colours are signed off by the committee first, and we plan common areas so residents always have a clear way through. Steep sites get the same access planning as a house, with scaffold priced in from the start.

Common questions

Painting in Buderim: common questions.

  • Will you paint my house anywhere on Buderim hill?

Yes, from the ridge and the village down to the lower slopes and the acreage on the edges. Steep blocks often need scaffold on the downhill side, and we price that in at the quote. On acreage blocks with long driveways, we check access for scaffold and gear at the site visit. Our exterior painting in Buderim and interior painting in Buderim pages show how each job runs.

  • How is a start date set for a Buderim repaint?

You get a start date along with the quote. Season matters, because outside work on the hill needs dry days and the shaded south walls need time between coats. If you’re selling or renting, give us the listing or lease date and we’ll work back from it. Send us your details and we’ll book a time to look at the house.

  • What does painting a Buderim brick home cost?

Face brick usually isn’t painted, so the outside job is mostly the timber and the eaves. As a guide, eaves, fascias and gutters alone run about $1,500 to $4,500, and a full interior on a 4-bedroom house about $10,000 to $18,000, including GST. Scaffold on a steep block adds to it. The cost guide lists every range.
